THE ISAACS SCHOLARSHIP FUND
In 1984 the Manges family created
an endowment for a scholarship in memory of Gerard
Manges, who through his service on the Isaacs Center
Board of Director's, demonstrated his deep concern for
young people and their future. Since the first award
in in 1984, the scholarships have grown in both amount
and number each year, thanks to many generous donors.
Others who are remembered through named scholarships
are Helen Robinson and Jack and
Anne August for their personal dedication
to young people planning careers in education. We are
please to count the Association for a Better New
York among our long-time scholarship donors as
well.
Most recently the Henry and Lucy Moses Fund sponsored the creation of the Henry and Lucy Moses College Prep Program to help us open doors to college for more members of our Youth Programs.
This year, the Henry and Lucy Moses Fund increased its two scholarships to four, with the two newest awards honoring the legacy of Jacqueline Schneider, a Trustee of the Fund and member of the Isaacs Board of Directors, who cared deeply about young people, and who personally supported an annual scholarship for many years.
We are most grateful to each and every donor who has helped us increase the dollars available for scholarships. Through the generosity of our donors, the 2008 Scholarship Fund is the largest ever.
